Dr. Erast G. Gaziev graduated in 1953 from the Moscow Power Institute, USSR, as a civil engineer in dam constructions, and had his Dr. Sci. (Techn.) in rock mechanics from Moscow Civil Engineering University, Russia, in 1980. He specialized in the fields of concrete dam’s investigations and rock mechanics in the Hydroproject Institute of Moscow. He participated in many projects of dam construction in different countries. During 8 years he was the researcher in the Engineering Institute of Mexico and professor of the Mexican National Autonomous University. He was a member of the Mexican Committee on Rock Mechanics.
He has more than 200 published works including 16 books in Russian, Spanish and Serbian.
He is a member of the International Society for Rock Mechanics from 1972, and a President of the Russian Geodynamics Association from 2009.
Now Dr. Erast Gaziev is the Chief specialist in the Center of Geodynamic Investigations in Power Industry of the Engineering Center of RAO UES.
