Larisa Nazarova is a graduate with honour of Novosibirsk State University (Mechanical and Mathematical Department). She holds a state PhD (1988) and DSc (2000) degrees in Solid Mechanics and Rock Mechanics. She currently serves as principal scientific researcher in Institute of Mining Siberian Branch of RAS and professor of Novosibirsk Agrarian University. Her focus of scientific interests includes: direct and inverse problems in geomechanics and geodynamics (designing and verification of model for natural and man-made objects of different scale level); deformation of fracture-porous media induced by mass transfer processes and application to problems of coal bed methane and log interpretation for estimation of reservoir properties; technique development for joint analysis of deterministic and stochastic geomechanical fields for quantitative estimation and prediction of induced seismicity parameters. Her investigations are supported by Russian Scientific Foundation and Russian Foundation for Basic Researches.
